A “Book title” field was added to the metadata section. The name you enter here is what shows up on the shelf in reading apps. Until now the folder name was used as-is, and image-only books ended up as “Untitled”.

The author name you enter is written into both the EPUB metadata and the title page.

Single half-width digits, as in “8月” or “3人”, were rotated on their side in vertical text. They now stand upright, the same way two-digit numbers already did.

When an exclamation mark is followed by a question mark, vertical Japanese typesetting normally places them side by side. That form is now supported.

Front matter without a heading was being registered in the table of contents under the book title.
